An open letter to the U.S. Supreme Court

Hold Trump in Contempt

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

The President's open defiance of a United States Supreme Court order creates a dangerous constitutional crisis that undermines the rule of law. By refusing to comply with the Court's directive to facilitate the return of Mr. Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Maryland father with protected legal status who was deported to a Salvadoran supermax prison by mistake, the President is engaging in unacceptable contempt of the judiciary. This brazen disregard for the authority of the highest court in the land cannot be tolerated in a nation built on democratic principles and the separation of powers. The Supreme Court must act decisively to hold the President accountable and reassert its constitutional role by citing him for contempt. Allowing this defiance to stand unchallenged would set a perilous precedent that jeopardizes the system of checks and balances fundamental to American democracy. Swift action to compel compliance is imperative to preserve the integrity of the judicial branch and the continued functioning of the United States as a nation governed by laws, not the capricious dictates of one man.
