Follow the Leahy Law

The Leahy Laws are supposed to prevent the United States from being complicit in war crimes and other acts of inhumanity. We are supposed to stop providing weapons to other countries when credible allegations of human rights abuses are brought forth against those countries. And generally, we abide by this. However, for some reason, Israel has been a constant exception. Why is this the case? Israel has been accused of war crimes, crimes against humanity, ethnic cleansing, and genocide. Every day, we see reports of more children who have been killed by Israel in either the West Bank or in Gaza (where the "ceasefire" has not actually stopped Israel from continuing to kill with impunity). These attacks are most likely being carried out by weapons provided by the United States. There has been evidence of this for well over a year now. And yet, there continues to be no change. You have a responsibility to ensure that our tax dollars are being put to good use. You are failing to do so with Israel. The blood of children is on our hands because of your actions. You have made us complicit in the slaughter of infants. The recent re-introduction of the Stand Up For Sudan act is a good and much needed response to the UAE's role in fueling the ongoing violence in Sudan. We should hold the UAE accountable. I'm glad to see the widespread support for this act, and I would hope that the same rationale would be applied to Israel (especially since we are actually giving money to Israel, as opposed to simply allowing corporations to sell weapons to the UAE). End all arms sales and military aid to those who are credibly accused of violating human rights. This should not be a divisive ask. This is the bare minimum. It is just following the existing laws we already have in place. It is basic humanity.
