Thank you to the house for voting for DC statehood. It is long overdue. Congress should not have the right to dictate details for hundreds of thousands of Americans when they don't do that for any other state or municipality. Now it's time for the Senate to act! Make DC statehood a reality and give full representation and rights to this large pocket of Americans. Senator, even if you vote for this, don't stop there. Work with your fellow senators to make this legislation reality! Puerto Rico is next! Americans deserve full representation. We are so past the colonial era. We need to do away with all vestiges of it.
