This makes our food supply more vulnerable to disruption in much the same way our baby food supply is. It's also extremely harmful to rural communities and independent growers. Just look what has happened to peanut growers with the monopoly on processing. To benefit from competition there needs to be competition and new competitors need to be able to enter the market.
