I'm writing to express concern about the nomination of Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense, as it is my understanding that meetings are being held with him this week. While I do think there are some personal problems that make him unsuitable as a leader of men, my primary concern is his lack of experience leading even a small organization, let alone the largest one our country has, and which is responsible for our safety here and around the globe. This simply is not a position one can learn on the job. I think that our presidents should largely get the cabinet they desire, but the confirmation process is there to prevent catastrophic mistakes, which I think this nomination is. I urge you to vote no and to help steer the president toward a more qualified candidate in whatever capacity you may be able.
