I wrote to you yesterday asking for any elaboration you might provide on Trump administration policies proposed for a future administration. Not expecting an answer I continued my search.
Found it.
We all know DJT is not one for details. Or doing the work. So I’m sure he was thrilled, and is still secretly thrilled, to have others fill in absolutely all the blanks in his future governance. 900+ pages to be exact.
Project 2025.
So here we go with a few of the finer points they are ready and willing to implement when given the go-ahead by the big guy. By executive branch action alone, Congress be damned.
Replace non-partisan federal employees with partisan loyalists
Restrict access to food assistance
Eliminate the Head Start program
Limit which disabilities qualify veterans for benefits
Remove safety nets for farmers
Eliminate funding for key public transportation projects
Undo Medicare’s new ability to negotiate lower drug prices
End medication abortion use, or make it incredibly difficult to access by revoking FDA approval, criminalize mailing medication abortion, or even enlisting the EPA as part of their anti-abortion efforts
Push people towards private Medicare plans that worsen health outcomes under the guise of greater choice
Make it easier for extremists to access personal information about patients’ reproductive care
Stop people from earning overtime pay
Cut funding for local job-creating programs
Manipulate data that businesses rely on to keep our economy functioning
Weaken child labor protections
Embolden racial discrimination in everything from housing to education to employment
Make it harder for historically under-resourced communities to access Medicaid, Head Start, and other government programs.
Undermine gender equity across the government
Make our air dirtier and worsen climate change
Cut off weather, ocean, and climate data by disbanding NOAA
Transfer environmental funding away from mission-based entities to state regulators who, in many cases, do not support sustainable policies
Expand offshore oil and natural gas drilling on public lands and waters
Cut federal loan programs that help parents of college students, graduate students, and immigrants afford higher education
Force career experts out of government by relocating federal agencies
Administer ideologically biased or discriminatory tests for federal workers
Meddle with national security by altering security clearances
And rewrite the LGBTQ+ community out of existence with discrimination
Whew. Now you have all the info you need when your next constituent asks about Trump policy.
