Our nation's founding principles of democracy, freedom, and the peaceful transfer of power are sacred and must be fiercely defended. Attempting to amend the Constitution to extend term limits endangers these core values that have preserved our republic for over two centuries. Such a move undermines faith in our electoral system and sets a dangerous precedent that any leader could exploit to cling to power indefinitely. Granting any individual that level of authority is antithetical to the system of checks and balances enshrined in our Constitution. We cannot allow personal allegiances to supersede our commitment to democratic norms and processes.
