An open letter to State Governors & Legislatures (Calif. only)

Protect transit funding, support sustainable mobility for Californians

24 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

Public transit is a vital service that enhances mobility and access for communities across California. The proposed cuts to transit funding will have severe consequences, leading to longer wait times, route cancellations, and limiting people's ability to reach their workplaces, schools, and essential destinations. Even for those who do not rely on public transportation, these cuts will exacerbate traffic congestion, parking scarcity, and air pollution levels. We cannot afford to undermine the accessibility and environmental benefits provided by robust transit systems. Our state budget should prioritize investing in reliable and frequent public transportation options to support the needs of all Californians and promote sustainable mobility solutions. We urge you to reverse the planned reductions and instead allocate additional funds to bolster transit services and ensure equitable access to affordable housing near transit hubs.
