An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Prioritize passenger safety over profit in aviation security reforms

1 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

Private security firms operating with a profit motive will undoubtedly and egregiously prioritize cost-cutting over passenger safety, drastically jeopardizing robust security protocols essential to protecting American lives. Privatizing aviation security poses an unacceptable and unconscionable conflict between commercial interests and our nation's paramount security imperatives that cannot be tolerated under any circumstances. Any reform proposals must be rejected outright without a comprehensive plan upholding the highest standards of traveler safety, civil liberties protections, rigorous training, oversight, and accountability measures completely independent of profit motivations. Our skies and citizens' wellbeing are sacred, not commodities to shamefully risk jeopardizing for corporate greed by eliminating the essential public service role of the TSA.
