PASS HR 588: Protects BWCA. Also: Save Big Bend; Keep Roadless Rule

I hope you remember the widespread OUTRAGE when Congress passed a bill with a poison addition to allow forever-polluting sulphide mining in the BWCA. This was allowing pollution for private profit to wreck pristine wilderness. Talk about socialism: that was an example of socialise the losses and privatise the profits... to a Chilean firm no less.
Now Tim Walz of Minnesota has just signed an executive order to protect the Boundary Waters. This is wonderful news.
I ask you to follow up by passing Rep Betty McCollum's Boundary Waters Wilderness Protection and Pollution Prevention Act (H.R. 588) to provide a permanent federal protection for this national treasure.
Listen to Rep McCollum:
"The Boundary Waters holds 20% of all the fresh water in the U.S. National Forest System — water so clean you can drink it. The danger of copper mining to our clean water is clear and overwhelming: 100% of copper mines have failed, leading to polluted water. The wildfires that have raged in the BWCA this summer remind us just how vulnerable this area is."
Please remember that we the people, your constituents DO NOT WANT OUR shared legacy of precious wilderness ruined, --not by mining, not by bulldozing, not by road building. THESE ACTS OF DESTRUCTION SOLVE NOTHING. I am counting on you to also speak out to SAVE BIG BEND and preserve the ROADLESS RULE
