Indep. Investigations Now! Alex Pretti, Renee Good & ICE Accountability

On January 24, 2026, federal agents fatally shot Alex Pretti on a Minneapolis street. He was a 37-year-old ICU nurse, U.S. citizen, and law-abiding gun owner with a permit to carry. He was helping people. Video shows agents restraining him, striking him repeatedly, then shooting him while he was on the ground. This marks the third shooting by federal agents in Minneapolis this month. On January 7, ICE killed Renee Nicole Good, a mother of three and U.S. citizen with no criminal record. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension states it has been "blocked" from investigating either case. Dr. King warned that "history will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people." I am urging you to break that silence. Vote against H.R.4213, the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act of 2026, which allocates $10 billion to ICE. Withhold all DHS funding until independent oversight is established and federal agents are withdrawn from Minneapolis. Support legislation requiring local law enforcement oversight of all federal operations in American communities. Call for a comprehensive, independent investigation into these killings and all future federal actions. The Constitution does not permit federal agents to kill American citizens, obstruct state investigations, or refuse to investigate or be accountable for their actions.
