Despite promises, which in reality are worthless from Trump, to not touch social security and Medicare, he is touching social security in a way that is going to make it even harder for the agency to serve the public. Go down to your local social security office and see how understaffed they are by observing the lines out the door and the unavailability of walk-in appointments. Call the office and see how you like the 2 hour hold time. Try to go online to reset an account when one of your elderly parents has died but had the passwords. The system supports so many elderly and disabled people who would be in poverty without it that it would be criminal to break it by wholesale layoffs of the staff all in an effort to justify a tax cut for those who need it least. It is really sad how congress has rolled over and let these mad men destroy our government institutions. I am ashamed of what my representatives have become, footstools for a tyrant.
