Iran Threatened Global Civilian Attacks — You Saw This Coming. Act Now.

On March 21, 2026, Iran’s top military spokesman, Gen. Abolfazl Shekarchi, publicly warned that “parks, recreational areas and tourist destinations” worldwide will no longer be safe for the enemies of Tehran. This is not a vague threat — it is a declared intent to target civilians anywhere on the globe.
This is precisely the expansion of the conflict that critics warned about from the start. Iran has a well-documented history of using proxy networks and extraterritorial attacks. Anyone paying attention knew that a war launched against the Iranian regime — killing its supreme leader and striking its military infrastructure — would not be contained to the Middle East.
Yet when Congress had the opportunity to act:
— The Trump administration launched Operation Epic Fury on February 28, 2026, without a declaration of war or Congressional authorization.
— The Senate War Powers resolution (Kaine/Paul) to reassert Congressional oversight failed 47-53 on March 4, 2026, with the overwhelming majority of Republican senators voting it down.
— The House has yet to meaningfully act.
You now own the consequences of that inaction. American citizens — at home and abroad — are at elevated risk of terrorist attack at civilian soft targets. That risk is a direct result of a war entered into without Congressional deliberation, strategic planning, or a clearly defined exit strategy. As of today, the administration is simultaneously requesting $200 billion more for the war while suggesting it may “wind down” — a contradiction that reflects the absence of any coherent endgame.
What I am asking you to do, now:
1. Hold immediate, public hearings on the threat to domestic and international civilian targets, including U.S. soil, and demand a classified briefing on specific threat assessments related to Gen. Shekarchi’s statement.
2. Pass a war powers resolution requiring Congressional authorization for any further escalation.
3. Demand that DHS and the FBI publicly acknowledge the elevated domestic terrorism risk and brief Congress on what protective measures are being taken for American civilians.
Iran told us this was coming. You had the power to demand a strategy before this war started, and the majority chose not to use it. The American people deserve accountability — and more urgently, they deserve protection.
I expect a response detailing what specific steps you are taking.
