An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Demand to Oppose the Dismantling of the Department of Education

19 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

The recent executive order by President Trump directing Secretary of Education Linda McMahon to dismantle the Department of Education is a direct assault on the foundation of our nation’s educational system. This reckless action threatens to strip away critical support for millions of students, particularly those from low-income families and children with disabilities. The Department of Education plays an indispensable role in enforcing civil rights laws, managing student loans, and ensuring equitable access to quality education across all states. Its elimination would create chaos, disproportionately harming the most vulnerable among us. I demand that you take immediate and decisive action to oppose this misguided initiative. Stand firm against any attempts to dismantle the Department of Education and protect the future of our nation’s children.
