Shut Down ICE Hold Rooms and Investigate All Detention Facilities Now
Shut down ICE's Hold Room operations immediately and launch a full congressional investigation into every ICE detention facility in this country. Whistleblowers have handed the House Oversight Committee documented proof that ICE is holding men, women, families, and elderly people with chronic medical conditions for days to weeks in rooms that were architecturally designed for 12-hour transits. Photographs from the Miramar facility show overflowing restrooms, black mold choking the air vents, and people sleeping on concrete floors in chains. This is not a paperwork violation. This is torture.
A federal court reestablished the original 12-hour hold limit in June 2026, and ICE is violating it anyway. Research from UC Berkeley and UCLA has mapped roughly 170 of these rooms operating across all 50 states as a shadow detention network, deliberately keeping people off official databases and out of judicial reach. Every person currently held in these conditions needs immediate medical care and help reconnecting with their families.
This requires action right now, not after the next hearing. Demand ICE halt Hold Room operations, ensure every detained person receives medical attention, and begin building the legal and humanitarian infrastructure to reunite families that have been torn apart. History will judge what is happening in these facilities. Your response to it will be part of that record.
