NOT A GOOD LOOK. THEY SHOULD PRACTICE WHAT THEY PREACH

There’s an idea for cutting federal expenditures that should be taken seriously.
Fire the biggest and most expensive federal employee. And his mini-me minion.
I guess Elon’s request for, and procurement of, a massive TV for his office in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building so he could play video games, is a much needed stress reliever after a day of destroying government, and the lives of 1000s who make it run.
Sweet deal. But I bet we could do without him.
Next. Trump, in the first month after his second inauguration, spent 16 of his first 31 days at his own properties, and 10 of his first 31 days playing golf at those properties.
Reporting estimates we the people have spent $18M so far this term for him to play golf.
A 2019 GAO report that examined Trump’s first four trips to Mar-a-Lago during his first administration calculated that each of those trips cost $3,383,250.
To add further perspective, the GAO reported that Trump spent $151.5 million of taxpayer money golfing across his entire first term. So, he is on pace to blow away the previous bill he ran up on the country’s tab.
And that’s just the costs for Trump. Other Republicans, Republican organizations and members of the administration have also shown their fealty by staying or holding events at Trump properties. The president’s visit to his club in Doral, Florida, last month, for example, overlapped with a congressional Republican policy retreat. Earlier this month, he hosted Republican senators at Mar-a-Lago.
Are these events charged to the U.S. Government? If so I’m assuming monies made off those cosy arrangements go back in the U.S. coffers? Shouldn’t they?
Oh well. This weekend, Trump is reportedly scheduled to return to Mar-a-Lago, marking his sixth trip since taking office seven weeks ago.
He’ll get to rest up. It’s hard work destroying a democracy. And it’s absolutely positively good to be King.
