The agency only uses a tiny fraction of the federal budget, but it manages to help millions of people across the world who suffer from malaria, AIDS, polio, malnourishment, and more. The Trump administration has slashed 83% of USAID programs, gutting life-saving health initiatives that Congress already approved.
