Oppose Removing Military Bases as Retaliation for Oversight

I'm asking you to oppose any proposal to remove military bases abroad as retaliation for oversight. This is short-sighted and dangerous. Shutting down bases because of political disputes over accountability undermines our national security infrastructure at a moment when tensions with Iran demand we maintain our strategic position. These installations exist to project power, deter aggression, and respond to threats in critical regions. Using them as bargaining chips in domestic political fights signals to adversaries that our commitments are negotiable and weakens our ability to counter Iranian escalation. This approach also harms the communities that depend on these bases for economic stability and the service members and their families who would face sudden upheaval. Retaliation against oversight isn't governance. It's petulance that puts politics above security.
