An open letter to State Governors & Legislatures (Calif. only)

Support Legislation to Place University Research Funding on November Ballot

5 so far! Help us get to 10 signers!

I need you to support the legislation that will place university research funding on the November ballot. The severe reduction in federal funding is forcing California to act now or lose our best researchers. The brain drain is real. Our most promising students are going to leave our universities and the US altogether to pursue their research in countries that will support them. Other countries are funding research and actively inviting US graduate students and researchers to study there. When researchers leave, they take their discoveries, patents, and economic impact with them. California has the best university research system in the world and we need to support and maintain it to continue to attract the best and the brightest researchers to work and study here. Supporting this ballot measure protects what we've built. Vote yes on this legislation and let California voters decide whether to preserve our research leadership.
