An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Legislation Needed to Regulate PBMs and Drug Companies

7 so far! Help us get to 10 signers!

The escalating influence of Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) in the healthcare system is concerning. Their opaque financial arrangements and their role in determining medication costs for patients have contributed to the skyrocketing drug prices. While the Senate's consideration of new rules to increase PBMs' transparency and accountability is commendable, it is not a comprehensive solution. It is crucial to address the root cause of this issue - the unchecked power of PBMs and drug companies. Therefore, it is requested that legislation be enacted to regulate both PBMs and drug companies, curbing their ability to inflate prices. This would ensure a more equitable healthcare system where access to necessary medications is not a privilege but a right.
