I am writing to demand that the United States speak out unequivocally and forcefully in support of Ukraine. Ukraine is our ally. For decades, the U.S. has made explicit commitments—political, diplomatic, and security-related—promising to help safeguard Ukraine’s sovereignty and independence. Those commitments mean nothing if we stay silent now.
Russia is the aggressor in this war. Russia invaded a peaceful neighbor. Russia launched this conflict. Russia continues to commit brutal acts against civilians and violate international law. These facts are not up for debate.
Yet, instead of standing firmly with our ally, our president is entertaining the so-called “peace terms” coming from Moscow—terms crafted by the very nation that started this war. That is not diplomacy. That is capitulation. It is wrong.
If Russia wants this war to end, there is a simple solution: they should retreat. Withdraw their forces. Stop attacking a sovereign nation. End their illegal occupation. That is how peace begins.
The United States must speak clearly and without hesitation:
Ukraine deserves our full moral, political, and strategic support.
Russia bears 100% of the responsibility for this war.
Silence in the face of aggression is complicity. I urge you to stand with our ally, honor our promises, and push back against any attempt to legitimize Russia’s demands.
Do the right thing. Speak out now.
