Greetings. I am a voting constituent in rural west Texas.
Because no news is bad news for your presidential candidate, I write to let you know that his need for the spotlight is working. The focus is absolutely on him.
So in case you have missed recent campaign news…
He’s selling more NTFs.
He’s running campaign ads around Mar-a-Lago to swaddle himself in love.
He’s blaming Biden/Harris for his assassination attempt.
He said Jesus would affirm he won CA in 2020.
He’s hired the two worst ex-Democrats on the planet to oversee who’ll be running the government in the apocalyptic possibility he’ll win re-election.
And the icing on the crazy cake…a kerfuffle in Arlington National Cemetery, apparently over campaign staff trying to turn a solemn occasion into a photo-op to try and disabuse America of the notion that DJT is not a fan of losers and suckers.
A kerfuffle that did manage to produce one of the more nauseating images seen in a while. A smiling presidential candidate giving an enthusiastic thumbs up over a veteran’s grave.
Reminder: Republican senators could have stopped this black period in our history at many points in Trump’s term, at the very least by voting to convict Trump at his first impeachment trial.
At the time, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) said, “Out of one hundred senators, you have zero who believe you that there was no quid pro quo. None. There’s not a single one.”
Where did that guy go?
Republican senators nonetheless stood behind Trump. “This is not about this president. It’s not about anything he’s been accused of doing,” then–majority leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) told his colleagues. “It has always been about November 3, 2020. It’s about flipping the Senate.”
In May 2016, South Carolina Republican senator Lindsey Graham famously observed: “If we nominate Trump, we will get destroyed.......and we will deserve it.”
