Oppose the so-called “SAVE” Act

I am writing today to urge your vocal opposition to HR 22, the so-called SAVE act. This act purports to protect our democracy by ensuring that only citizens can vote by requiring a passport or birth certificate for voter registration. However, half the population does not have a passport, very many Americans don’t have easy access to their birth certificate, and 69 million women lack a birth certificate that matches their current legal name. As a result, the impact of this act would not be voter protection, but voter suppression. Please be vocal in lobbying your colleagues to oppose this act. Thank you!
