Condemn Trump's rhetoric, affirm support for Ukraine against Russia

The recent explosive meeting between President Trump, Vice President Vance, and President Zelensky of Ukraine was an alarming display of disrespect towards a vital ally. Trump's confrontational tone, aggressive rhetoric, and blatant dismissal of Zelensky's perspective on the conflict seriously undermines Ukraine's sovereignty and emboldens Russia's unjustified invasion. Furthermore, Trump's repeated defense of Putin, whom he praised as "cunning" and claimed wants peace despite ample evidence to the contrary, is disturbing given Russia's blatant violations of international law and human rights abuses. This incident is unacceptable treatment of a partner nation bravely defending itself against an unprovoked attack. Congress must forcefully censure the President's unconscionable behavior and affirm unwavering support for Ukraine's struggle against Russian aggression. Failure to do so risks emboldening authoritarian regimes and irrevocably damaging America's global standing.
