Take Action Now to Oppose AZ SB1511 Threatening Privacy and Healthcare Rights

Insurance coverage should not come at the expense of patient privacy or compromise access to essential healthcare services. SB1511 raises significant privacy concerns by requiring insurers to disclose sensitive patient information to government agencies without proper safeguards. This violates the fundamental right to medical privacy. Additionally, mandating coverage for detransition procedures while failing to ensure equal access to gender-affirming care is deeply concerning and undermines established standards of care. The public reporting requirement further jeopardizes patient confidentiality by mandating the release of private medical data. Protecting privacy and maintaining comprehensive, patient-centered healthcare access should be prioritized over measures that infringe on these rights. I urge you to address these issues and uphold privacy and healthcare rights for all Arizonans.
