The Pandemic is NOT Over. Urgent need to address post infectious illness.

I support ME Action. The pandemic is not over. Many millions of people are experiencing long covid. Post infectious illnesses are a public health emergency and are a part of the pandemic. Chronic morbidity needs to be considered more important as an outcome and better supported with research dollars. Please let me know what you can do to increase education, research, and treatments for people with post-infectious illness. We are legion. We are missing from our jobs, our education, our families. We are missing from our own lives. We matter. We should matter to you, to DSHS, to NIH. Call Vicky Whittemore at NIH. Call Open Medicine Foundation. Call ME Action. Call Solve ME/CFS. Call the US Clinician Coalition. Call the ME/CFS Collaborative Research Centers. Talk to them, put together a plan. Yes, currently there is no comprehensive plan. There is a small amount of stuff being done, but no reasonable way to get from here to reasonable medical care. A comprehensive, science-focused, clinically useful, patient-relevant plan for Post infectious illness is essential, and urgently needed.
