The court seriously erred in its decision to grant immunity to Donald Trump or, for that matter, any president of the United States. This country was born as a response to the tyranny of a king. And yet members of this court felt it appropriate to grant rights of royalty to a man who has demonstrated disdain for the rule of law over and over again. This wrongful decision will stain this court with the death of our democracy and be a warning to future generations of the dangers of a Supreme Court complicit in the plans of a budding dictator. This court will be viewed in infamy.
There is a remedy for this future, a chance to right the wrong. That remedy is to reverse the unconstitutional granting of unfettered power to a man who has demonstrated nothing but contempt for the courts, the congress, the press, and the American people. Admitting error is a function of our court system and it is desperately needed now. Ladies and gentlemen of the Supreme Court, it's time to ask yourselves some questions: Do I really love this country? Is the power of the already powerful all that matters to me? Do I care how history will see me?
It is past time to correct this error. It may be your last chance to do so.
