Investigate the White House Ballroom Pay-to-Play Scheme
I am voting constituent writing to compel a full congressional investigation into the staggering pay-to-play corruption detailed in recent reports regarding the White House ballroom project.
According to a Public Citizen watchdog analysis, 14 of the 27 known corporate donors funding this $400 million vanity project have raked in more than $50 billion in new or expanded federal contracts over the last six months alone. This is not a coincidence; it is a blatant abuse of taxpayer funds to reward political compliance.
Even more egregious, 16 of these corporate donors are facing serious federal enforcement actions—including antitrust reviews and labor disputes—yet the administration has actively dropped or reduced charges for some of them. This quid pro quo strips our government of integrity, ensuring that corporate legal problems disappear the moment a check is written to the executive.
The administration’s refusal to release the full donor list indicates they are intentionally hiding this corruption from the public. I urge you to exercise your oversight authority to subpoena the complete financial ledger, launch a formal inquiry, and pursue meaningful consequences—including contract cancellations and legal penalties—for every player involved in this ballroom scheme.
