RFK Jr.’s false and dangerous claims about SSRIs and ADHD medications

I am writing to express my concern about Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s recent statements regarding SSRIs and ADHD medications.
As a mother struggling with anxiety, I rely on these medications to manage my condition and care for my family. Mr. Kennedy’s claims that SSRIs cause violence and that ADHD medications are harmful are not only unfounded but dangerous. His words could cause many, including myself, to question the efficacy and safety of these life-changing treatments, potentially leading to unnecessary fear and medication discontinuation.
Many children and adults rely on ADHD medications to function in society—both in school and in work.
The reality is that losing access to these medications could severely impact my ability to function and care for my children. Misinformation like this undermines trust in essential treatments and could have serious consequences for public health.
I urge you to stand against this rhetoric and support policies that promote accurate, evidence-based information about mental health care.
Thank you for your time and consideration of this issue. I trust you will take the well-being of your constituents into account.
