An open letter to the President

Take Responsibility for What Happens on Your Watch

19 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

You have said you want to be a "uniter" but today, while bodies are still being pulled from the Potomac, you blamed your predecessor and especially his "diversity, equity and inclusion" policies for this disaster. This language is divisive and harmful — and completely inaccurate according to aviation safety experts. Reports indicate the tower was understaffed at the time of the accident. Air traffic control falls under your administration's responsibility now. Instead of making unfounded claims to score political points, it would be more appropriate to focus on leading the investigation into this tragedy and improving aviation safety procedures moving forward. As president, the American people are looking to you to bring the nation together during difficult times, not sow further division with inaccurate rhetoric.
