An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Speak out. Condemn the firebombing of the Pa Gov's House. Silence is compliance

Don't normalise political violence, human rights abuses or war crimes. I'm shocked by the attack on Pennsylvania Governor Shapiro's home and family. This domestic terrorism. It is political violence. I'm also shocked that no statements of condemnation have come from the Whitehouse or the FBI. .... you know, I know, that SILENCE IS COMPLIANCE. The image of the burned Haggadah saved from that fire has a chilling historical resonance. You need to speak out, all electeds need to speak out, to condemn this and to confront Trump's shameful disturbing silence. Trump and his minions are telling us that graduate students who wrote an editorial or took part in a protest are so dangerous that he has to (illegally) suspend their 1st amendment rights -- and he doesn't even condemn a firebombing on a governor's house on Passover? Will your children look back and see that you were "good Germans" who enabled the Nazis? What will it take for you to SAY NO to this politics of lies, hate, suppression of free speech, bigotry and growing violence? Speak out now.
