An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Stop the Surveillance State! Crackdown on Flock Cameras!

2 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

Co-sponsor the Ban Flock Act, introduced by Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. This bill would bar the federal government from using automatic license plate readers, cut federal grants to state and local governments that deploy them, and give Americans the right to sue for violations. It's exactly the kind of check we need on a surveillance system that has already produced over 100 documented abuses — including romantic stalking, wrongful detentions, and unauthorized use. Flock Safety operates more than 120,000 cameras nationwide. Their AI doesn't just read plates — it catalogs make, model, color, bumper stickers, and scratches, feeding that data into a national database any contracted law enforcement agency can search with virtually no oversight. That's not a law enforcement tool. That's a corporate-run dragnet. The freedom to move through your own community without being tracked shouldn't require a court battle to protect. Add your name to this bill.
