An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Stop depending on SCOTUS

2 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

Why is the White House relying on the Supreme Court so often? I thought the purpose of SCOTUS was to interpret law, not to act as a constant advisor or fallback for the executive branch. Surely there are more efficient, less overburdened ways to guide executive decisions—ones that don’t require expensive litigation and constitutional showdowns. The Supreme Court already has an enormous workload. Are you comfortable with the way this administration repeatedly turns to them to bail out policy decisions? Frankly, this stems from poor confirmation choices. You voted to confirm cabinet members and an Attorney General who are clearly unqualified. That decision has real consequences. Now we’re stuck spending taxpayer money on legal battles over executive orders because actual governance is being ignored. Relying on executive action instead of legislation is chaotic, divisive, ineffective—and costly. What happened to the Republican Party? Where are the leaders willing to stand up and do the hard work of governing? This isn’t courage. It’s pathetic cowardice. I urge you to take your role seriously—not just as a partisan, but as a representative of the people. The country is struggling, and leadership is desperately needed. There are 547 days until the 2026 midterms.
