Greetings.i am a voting constituent in rural west Texas.
Let the backpedaling begin. Who didn’t know that this time would come? Mr. Trump driving your party into the iceberg. All the until-now enablers right there behind him. But now, now that you put your money on the wrong horse, now you want your constituents to believe that you never really went along just to get along.
Sure thing Senator.

When I make a decision to keep quiet when I see something wrong, when my job requires that I put voice to that wrong, I just go talk to my dog. He knows how I really feel about things. And that makes up for my inability to actually say anything meaningful when and where it matters.
And more.

“Cornyn continued: “I think what we found is that we’re not going to change President Trump. He is who he is. You either love him or hate him, and there’s not much in between. What I tried to do is not get into public confrontations and fights with him because, as I’ve observed, those usually don’t end too well.””
It’s not ending too well now either though. Wouldn’t you have felt better voicing your heartfelt sentiments so that we, your constituents, could see that you were concerned about the path our country was/is on?
Instead, now, you basically said ‘Oh well what are you gonna do. Boys will be boys.”
You know what you do with an awful spouse? You get rid of them.
This was a mealy-mouthed interview. It showed no courage. It was disingenuous. And not convincing to anyone who’s been paying any attention at all.
Pained expressions and weak sounds of disapproval at this late date mean less than nothing.
Unfortunately it probably work for you. Even though it absolutely should not.
Although I still have my fingers crossed.
