Speak Out Against the Genocide of Trans People

103 so far! Help us get to 250 signers!

The United States is committing genocide against our trans neighbors, and I need you to act — publicly, loudly, and now. This isn't hyperbole. It's a documented pattern of systemic erasure: exclusion from employment and public life, removal from official records, and normalized violence that has historically kept the average lifespan of a transsexual woman at just 35 years. Trans people are a superminority — roughly 1-2% of the population — and many carry additional marginalized identities: Indigenous, Black, disabled, survivors. The genocide doesn't look like a single catastrophic event. It's maintained quietly, perpetually, through policy and indifference, easy to dismiss as a "return to prior norms." That framing is the mechanism. Death threats, assault, forced homelessness, and denial of gender-affirming care aren't side effects of bad policy — they are the policy. Read more at https://badlylickedbear.substack.com/p/what-im-talking-about-when-i-talk Speak this truth on the record. Use the word genocide. Co-sponsor legislation protecting trans people from discrimination and ensuring access to gender-affirming care. The quietest genocides survive because officials stay quiet too. I won't accept that silence from you.
