NATO is the adult buddy bench, and they don’t wanna play with you.

Have you ever heard of a buddy bench? It’s a special seating arrangement at playgrounds. If you feel left out or want to join in and don’t know how, you just sit on the buddy bench so the other kids know you’re down to play. It’s a very simple but underrated concept that helps build leadership, fellowship, the ability to ask for help, and the ability to aid one another. Kids use it successfully daily.
In the grown up world, NATO is basically the buddy bench. If you need help with something, you go to NATO, and if you have a good idea for a strategy, they agree to play with you. Because you probably already knew that NATO would think you were insane, instead of sitting down to ask for help, you basically condemned them and then expected to order them around. Uh uh, buddy. Catch a bubble, ok?
Bullying is not allowed on the buddy bench, and while I know you’re just acting out- most bullies are really just insecure- you cannot expect NATO to cooperate with your endeavors to do things like genocide, mass destruction, and the blockade of goods and services to Iran (and Cuba, for that matter).
If you want friendship and coordination, you need to offer the same in return. It’s hard, but it’s just pride. Apologize and move on- if not for yourself then for the people you were hired to serve and protect. And if you can’t, perhaps take a nap… and resign.
