An open letter to the U.S. House of Representatives

Yes on the Stop Corporate Capture Act (H.R. 1507) and no on the REINS Act!

186 so far! Help us get to 250 signers!

I’m writing as a constituent to urge you to protect us from corporations that are out of control. From the train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, to the recent major bank collapse, it’s obvious that trusting corporations to police themselves is dangerous. The Stop Corporate Capture Act (H.R. 1507) is exactly what we need to stop corporations and their lobbyists from undermining critical health and safety protections. I want you to co-sponsor this legislation and do whatever you can to build support among your colleagues. At the same time, I’m worried that Congress might go in the wrong direction and support a radical and dangerous bill. The REINS Act (H.R. 277) would impose the unrealistic requirement that Congress must approve every major federal rule before it can be enforced. I’m worried that, since you have so much on your plate already, this would only act as a roadblock and prevent important new public health and safety safeguards, financial reforms, and worker protections from taking effect. Please support the Stop Corporate Capture Act and oppose the REINS Act to protect the American people. Thank you for your time and attention to this important matter.
