An open letter to the President & U.S. Congress

Oppose the “Big Beautiful Bill”

2 so far! Help us get to 5 signers!

I stand firmly opposed to the "Big Beautiful Bill," and here's why. At first glance, the title may evoke a sense of grandeur and optimism, but upon closer inspection, the underlying implications reveal a troubling reality. This bill, which claims to prioritize progress and innovation, ultimately prioritizes the interests of a select few over the welfare of the many. Firstly, I am deeply concerned about the financial burden this bill places on taxpayers. It is marketed as a solution to pressing issues, yet it is riddled with hidden costs and inefficiencies that would lead to increased taxes for ordinary citizens. I cannot support a piece of legislation that proposes to drain our resources rather than uplift our communities. Moreover, the environmental impact of the initiatives outlined in this bill is alarming. The promise of growth should not come at the expense of our planet. We cannot afford to ignore the scientific consensus on climate change; instead, we should be investing in sustainable practices and renewable energy sources. The "Big Beautiful Bill" seems to ignore these critical aspects, favoring short-term gains over long-term sustainability. Additionally, I worry about the lack of transparency in the decision-making process surrounding this bill. It appears to have been crafted behind closed doors, with little input from the very people it purports to benefit. Democracy thrives on participation and dialogue, and I believe that every voice should be heard when it comes to legislation that affects us all. In conclusion, the "Big Beautiful Bill" may sound appealing at first, but its implications are far from beautiful. It threatens to exacerbate inequality, harm our environment, and sideline the voices of the people. I cannot support a bill that does not align with my values of fairness, sustainability, and transparency. We deserve better than a superficial promise of beauty; we need meaningful solutions that work for everyone.
