An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Block the January 6th Slush Fund and End ICE Detention

14 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

Block the $1.776 billion slush fund Trump created for January 6th participants and push for the release of people held in ICE detention centers. These are two separate abuses of power happening simultaneously, and your silence on either one is a choice. On the slush fund: Trump dropped a $10 billion lawsuit against his own government in exchange for a taxpayer-funded payout to election deniers and insurrectionists. That is corruption, plainly stated. No administration should be able to weaponize public money to reward people who attacked the democratic process, and Congress has both the authority and the obligation to stop it. On ICE detention: people are being held without adequate legal process, in conditions that have drawn repeated condemnation. Detention is not a neutral act. Every day these facilities operate at current capacity, real people are being harmed. I want you on record demanding accountability and pushing for releases where charges cannot be substantiated.
