An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Condemn President’s talk about breaching 22nd amendment

23 so far! Help us get to 25 signers!

It is deeply concerning and unacceptable for the president to suggest violating the 22nd Amendment by seeking a third term in office. The two-term limit on the presidency is a cornerstone of American democracy, enshrined in the Constitution to prevent any individual from consolidating excessive power. Suggesting methods to circumvent this rule is an affront to the democratic system of checks and balances that has sustained the United States for over two centuries. We must firmly reject any efforts to undermine constitutional constraints and uphold the enduring principles that have preserved liberty and self-governance. A peaceful transfer of power is paramount, and no president should pursue avenues to overstay their lawful term. I urge you to forcefully defend the Constitution and take a stand against rhetoric that threatens the foundations of American democracy.
