Oppose Genetic Sex Testing Policies That Harm Women Athletes

Oppose any legislation or federal pressure that supports SRY gene testing requirements for women athletes. These policies — now adopted by the WTA and set to affect every woman competing in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics — are not protecting women's sports. They are invading women's bodies and medical privacy under the guise of fairness. The science doesn't even support this. Andrew Sinclair, the scientist who actually discovered the SRY gene, wrote in 2025 that using it to establish biological sex is wrong because it tells you nothing about how the gene functions, whether testosterone is produced, or whether the body can use it. The policy's real-world impact falls almost entirely on cisgender intersex women — people like those with Complete Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome, who were born with a vagina and have lived their whole lives as women. There are no known transgender women currently competing on the WTA Tour. This policy isn't solving a real problem. It's creating one. Trans women are women. Intersex women are women. Forcing any woman to submit genetic data and medical records just to compete is a violation of privacy, plain and simple. I want you to publicly oppose federal support for these testing mandates and push back on the executive pressure the Trump administration is applying to the IOC to expand them further.
