An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Preserve Equal Employment Opportunity Act, promote inclusive hiring

7 so far! Help us get to 10 signers!

The Equal Employment Opportunity Act has played a crucial role in combating discriminatory hiring practices and promoting fair, merit-based employment opportunities. Dismantling this important legislation would be a grave mistake that undermines decades of progress toward creating equitable and inclusive workplaces. It is imperative that we preserve and strengthen measures that prevent hiring biases based on factors like race, gender, disability, or other protected characteristics. Objective, non-discriminatory hiring practices not only uphold fundamental civil rights but also allow businesses to attract and retain the best talent from diverse backgrounds. I urge you to reject any efforts to weaken or repeal the Equal Employment Opportunity Act and instead work to reinforce policies that foster truly equal opportunity for all qualified candidates. Diverse and inclusive workforces benefit everyone by driving innovation, productivity, and a more just society.
