The nonpartisan Tax Foundation projects costs of $1,000 per household in 2025, rising to $1,300 in 2026. U.S. container imports fell 6.8% in January, and major companies like Honda reported a 42% profit drop due to tariffs. Estée Lauder warned of $100 million in tariff-related losses impacting fiscal 2026 profitability. Congress holds the constitutional power to regulate commerce with foreign nations under Article I, Section 8. When the executive branch wields tariff authority without meaningful Congressional input, it concentrates too much power in one branch and leaves constituents vulnerable to sudden policy shifts that damage their economic security. I urge you to support resolutions that terminate unilateral tariffs and to back legislation that restores Congressional authority over trade policy.
