Congress must act swiftly to protect USAID and its workforce from the administration's reckless actions. Legislation explicitly prohibiting the diversion or recission of congressionally approved funds is urgently needed. Rigorous oversight through hearings and investigations should also be exercised to scrutinize the legal and policy justifications for these damaging cuts. The American people are counting on their representatives to uphold democratic principles and curb executive overreach that threatens the nation's core values and interests abroad.
