I am begging you to speak up. I am pleading with you to do your job before it is too late. Please, make this stop! Our country is sliding—rapidly and unmistakably—into authoritarianism. People are disappearing into detention without due process. People are dying in custody, and no one is being held accountable. This is state violence, carried out with indifference and cruelty. The Department of Justice is openly refusing to follow court orders. The rule of law—the foundation of this country—is being treated as optional. When the executive branch ignores the courts, democracy is already in free fall. And now the Administration is quoting Nazi slogans. Not dog whistles. Not coincidences.
