Investigate ICE Hiring of Sex Offenders and Remove Them Immediately

Demand an immediate investigation into ICE's hiring practices and remove every agent with a sex offense record now. Anyone with a sex offense conviction has no business holding federal law enforcement authority over vulnerable people, including children. This is not a gray area. Reports are surfacing that ICE has hired individuals with sex offense records, and at least one ICE agent is currently being shielded by Texas from extradition to Minnesota over a separate investigation into his conduct. These are not isolated incidents. When agencies expand rapidly and lower hiring standards, as happened with CBP in 2007-2008, predators fill the gaps. ICE is detaining children. The people doing that job must be held to the highest standard, not the lowest. Pass legislation barring anyone with a sex offense record from employment at ICE, DHS, or any law enforcement agency. Defund ICE until these personnel standards are enforced and an independent audit of current agents is complete. My community is watching how you respond to this.
