An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Respect Supreme Court order upholding rule of law

Following the Supreme Court's order to facilitate the return of Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia from El Salvador is a crucial matter upholding the rule of law and separation of powers. The administration openly defying this ruling by the highest court sets a dangerous precedent that undermines judicial authority and our system of checks and balances. As an elected leader, the President swore an oath to uphold the Constitution, which includes respecting court orders, even those viewed as unfavorable. Willfully disregarding binding legal decisions cannot be accepted from any administration. The foundations of American democracy and limited government hinge on adherence to the law and coequal branches of government. Failure to comply calls into question this administration's commitment to these fundamental principles.
