Support the SKILL Act to Fund AI Workforce Retraining

Today I’m writing in favor of the SKILL Act. While there’s a lot to do around artificial intelligence for safety, for minimizing pollution from Data centers and more, workers need help. As we well know, artificial intelligence is reshaping entire industries faster than workers can adapt. Fear surrounds the workforce because industry - as expected - is leaving them behind, and there’s no federal framework to help people whose jobs are being displaced. This bill, as read it, would be a first real attempt to do something for workers. It’s important to pass this bill and send a clear signal that Congress is paying attention to what's actually happening in our economy. The workers being hit hardest aren't failing — they're being outpaced by technology their employers adopted overnight. Retraining programs work when they're properly funded and targeted, but patchwork state efforts aren't enough. The SKILL Act creates that national structure to make that support real and accessible.
