Stop the Lies. Stop Silencing Women. Govern with Integrity.

Why are you trying to rewrite history to falsely suggest that immigrants commit more violent crimes when the data clearly shows that American-born men are responsible for the majority of assaults and rapes? And why do Republican men continue to silence women, devaluing their voices and experiences—especially on issues like sexual violence?
During the recent sanctuary city hearing, Representative Ayanna Pressley attempted to introduce factual evidence showing that Texas-born citizens have higher violent crime rates than migrants. Instead of engaging with the truth, Oversight Chair James Comer blocked the data from the record, dismissing Pressley’s right to speak. His actions were not just disrespectful—they were an intentional effort to suppress facts that challenge a preferred narrative.
This is about more than one hearing. It is about truth in governance, integrity in policymaking, and respect for all voices in our democracy. When a woman—especially one who is a survivor of sexual violence—speaks, she deserves to be heard, not silenced. Comer’s behavior reflects a broader pattern of Republican men undermining women’s perspectives, particularly when those perspectives challenge their political agenda.
The American people deserve leaders who engage in honest debate, not those who manipulate facts and suppress opposition. We deserve policies based on truth, not fearmongering. And we deserve a Congress that respects and values women’s voices rather than attempting to erase them.
I urge you to take a stand. Will you commit to ensuring that truth prevails over political convenience? And will you defend the right of all members—especially women—to speak and be heard in Congress without being silenced?
