All packaging and plastic needs to be actually and practically recyclable in the United States. Not just a one time recycling, repeatedly. If it cannot be recycled it needs to be biodegradable and safe for the environment. We are in the middle of environmental collapse and our profit driven economy is the cause. Our recycling is a farce. Most of our labeling is actively deceptive and the little that can actually be recycled can only be done one. It is the responsibility of companies to package responsibly and we must hold them to it, not foist the blame onto consumers who have no choice in the matter. Companies need to be held responsible for the end of life of their products. It is the only way we have a chance of saving anything of our planet. It is already too late to save everything. If they can afford to lobby against their basic responsibly they can afford to fix the problems they cause.
